The paperwork and effort required for an international adoption is like hiking a mountain trail and Building Blocks Adoption Services is like an experienced trail guide! The staff and their online website point the way but every family has to hike the trail themselves. It takes patience to stay the course, and take one step at a time. It is extremely important to remind yourself that children are waiting in orphanages on the "other side of the mountain." All your efforts will one day be worth it as you bring your adopted children home for good. Part of the journey includes a "Home Study." We did our Home Study through Building Blocks and the process was streamlined with the help of online classes that could be conveniently pursued in our own home. Our social worker was pleasant and very professional. The staff at Building Blocks view adoption as a "ministry" and they are always available to answer your questions. Our overseas facilitator was a gem and we could not be more thankful to have had such an amazing person assisting us while we were "in country!" Our daughters are all we dreamed of and are absolutely beautiful in everyway possible.
The Bradley Family When we started our adoption journey we had a decision to make whether we wanted to go international or domestic for our child. We weighed all our options and ultimately decided that domestic adoption was the direction we wanted to take to build our family. After contracting with an adoption agency that specializes in newborn adoptions, we contacted Building Blocks Adoption Service (BBAS) to complete our Ohio homestudy. The dedicated staff of BBAS answered all our questions, no matter how trivial they may have seemed, and were always there for us, and still are. We absolutely adore our social worker and heartily recommend BBAS to anyone considering completing an Ohio homestudy. We owe a great big thank you to BBAS for holding our hands and encouraging us when it seemed like it was never going to happen for us. We can not put into words how grateful we are to the entire staff at Building Blocks Adoption Service. The whole process took us about a year. During this time, your emotions are on a rolling coaster ride. Building Blocks is a wonderful agency to work with and we couldn’t imagine going through this process with any other agency. The staff is professional and treats you with kindness, patience, and understanding. Most of them have adopted themselves so they know what you are going through. We recently completed our adoption and have been home for less than 4 months. We adopted three very energetic and happy boys. The Watson Family I can't tell you enough how much I appreciated your staff. I was so absolutely impressed with the professionalism we experienced. You can tell that they all truly love these babies. Our attorney was wonderful of course and I think it was bitter sweet for her to see Jimena go. Our representative took us to our appointments and didn't leave us for one minute! She directed us where to go and did all of the grunt work for us so we could sit back and enjoy the experience of finally having our daughter! Many families with other agencies did not have any assistance and you could tell that their experience was much more stressful. What really impressed me as above and beyond was that our representative helped us out a ton later in the week when she didn't have to at all. I became very ill on Monday and she was very concerned. I want to thank the entire BBAS staff, especially Kelly and Denise for helping me to find my daughter Anna. Anna’s adoption from beginning to end only took seven months. I couldn’t have been happier when I was able to bring Anna home just shy of five months old. The staff really helped me during my stay.
